Evangelist Jimmy Williams Sr. was born to the late Elease Banks and Johnnie Williams on November 30, 1949, in Gadsden County, Florida.
He received his formal education at Lincoln Park Academy. As a youth, he spent much of his time in ministry alongside his mother, the late Elease Banks, who served as a devoted pastor at Little Children Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A proud member of the Lincoln Park Academy Class of 1968, Jimmy answered the call to serve his country the following year, in 1969, by joining the United States Air Force. After completing four years of military service, he went on to work for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for over 30 years. There, he not only delivered mail but also carried the word of God to those along his route. Following his retirement from the Postal Service, he held positions as a security guard and a process server.
Evangelist Williams loved the Lord deeply and was often referred to as a "Walking Bible." He authored two books: Imagination at American Station and Black Thoughts of White Beauty. His anointing and spiritual passion were evident in his signature declarations: "Hallelujah," "Power in Jesus' Name," "$2.00 Bills," and "Love With Action"-each a reflection of his mission to proclaim the joy of Jesus and draw souls closer to Christ.
He was known for praying for every city, state, country, and continent. A gifted songstress, he sang beloved hymns and also composed original songs celebrating Jesus' compassion, peace, provision, and harmony. His contributions to the community-both locally and beyond-made him a well-known and respected figure.
Evangelist Williams faithfully continued his mother's ministry, Little Children Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, until he made a major move of faith-much like a modern-day Abraham. He seized every opportunity to preach the message of Jesus and faith at churches including Liberty Truth and Deliverance, Davis Memorial Temple, Feed My Sheep Ministry to Men, The church of Pastor Burke and avenue I congregation, and The House of Prayer Pentecostal Church Inc. He often shared heartfelt stories of humble beginnings, helping to build a powerful outreach and prayer-centered ministry.
He met and married General Elder Roberta Williams, Co-Pastor of The House of Prayer Pentecostal Church Inc., who stood faithfully by his side in ministry and community work for over 30 years.
When led and able, he supported his wife in services and events at The House of Prayer Pentecostal Church Inc. A devoted prayer warrior, he participated in 6 a.m. daily morning prayer. Though he held his beliefs, he supported his wife's ministry faithfully-financially, spiritually, and wholeheartedly-regardless of whose name was on the envelope.
With Co-Pastor General Elder Roberta Williams by his side, Evangelist Williams cultivated a deeply loving and effective community outreach, both within the church and beyond its walls.
He fought a good fight, and on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, God called him home.
Evangelist Jimmy Williams Sr. was preceded in death by his mother, Elease Banks; his father, Johnnie Williams; brothers Jonnylee Albert and Tommie Lifhred; and sister Bertha Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his legacy: a loving and devoted wife of over 30 years, Co-Pastor General Elder Roberta Williams; sons: Jimmy Jr. (Dorthy) Williams, Darron Williams, and Columbus Christopher Coleman Jr.; daughters: Krystal (Timothy) Bell and Cynthia (David) Scott; brothers: Melvin Lifhred and Kenneth Lifhred; sisters: Tammie (Glasford) Smithy and Evlyn (Johnny) Prince; and grandchildren: Laila, Jordan, and TJ.
He is also remembered by a host of beloved family members, including The House of Prayer Pentecostal Church Inc. Family, his Open Community Ministry, and an innumerable number of people whose lives he touched and who loved and respected him dearly.
