Jimmy “Chip” Wilson, Jr., age 67, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on July 3, 2024. Chip was born on July 13, 1956, in Gallatin, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Wilson. Chip is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Kelly Summers Wilson; his mother, Billie Jo Wilson Bates; his daughters, Karen Freeman (Ryan), Amy Ragon (Stan), Courtney Hudson (Nick), and Whitney Hall (Eric); his grandchildren, Will Ragon, Amelia Freeman, Jane Claire Ragon, Eli Freeman, Millie Hudson, Landon Hall, and Mason Hall; his brother, Scott Wilson (Dee); his niece, Casey Denning (Colin); and his nephew, Tyler Wilson (Abby).
Chip was a graduate of Gallatin High School, Class of 1974. He was employed at Highpoint Health Sumner and had previously worked at RR Donnelley & Sons for 40 years. Chip enjoyed Tennessee football, cruising the neighborhood in his golf cart, maintaining a freshly cut lawn, and passionately supporting politics (especially Donald Trump). He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Family meant everything to Chip. He was a friendly neighbor who never met a stranger. Chip will always be remembered for the love he shared and the joy he brought into our lives.
Visitation before the service will be from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12th, at the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, with Brother Doyle Farris officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Hall, Nick Hudson, Stan Ragon, Ryan Freeman, Eli Freeman, Will Ragon, and Tyler Wilson.
