Obituary of Jincong Gao
Jincong Gao, aged 90, passed away on February 4, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Hebei, China, Jincong spent many fruitful years in Beijing before moving to Elmhurst, NY, in 2001, marking the beginning of his cherished American journey.
Throughout his career, Jincong worked in various capacities within hotels and bureaus, ultimately serving as an officer at Beijing Customs. His dedication and hard work defined his many years of service until his retirement.
Jincong was passionate about several hobbies that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. An avid gardener, he shared the bounty of his harvest with his fortunate neighbors and friends, a testament to his generous spirit. His keen interest in politics kept him engaged with the happenings in both China and the United States, showcasing his broad outlook on life. Jincong enjoyed long walks in his neighborhood, greeting neighbors with a wave and a smile, overcoming any language barriers with technology like Google Translate to communicate and form friendships. His kind nature and love for his grandchildren were profound; one of his final acts of love was preparing a meal for them, a memory that will be cherished forever.
Jincong is lovingly remembered by his wife, Haowen Zhang; daughters, Jane Gao and her husband Yichao Chang, Yang Gao and her husband Gang Zhang; son, Feng Gao; and grandchildren, Katherine, Madeline Chang, and Zizhuo Zhang.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation services were conducted privately.
Jincong's kind and giving nature, along with his love for his family and community, will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
