Roger Gao Obituary

Roger Rong Ri Gao, beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, died unexpectedly on March 6, 2024, at the age of 51. He was born in Canton, China and as a teenager, immigrated to St. Louis, where he lived for 38 years.

He was a car enthusiast who took great pride in fixing cars for his friends and family. Uncle Roger was adored by his nieces and nephews. At family gatherings, he was the fun-loving adult who played like one of the kids. Ever the dutiful son, he always brought his parents' favorite food for them whenever he visited their house. He never splurged on himself but would get the biggest gift that he could afford for a family member's birthday. That was his way to express his love for others. He was a man of great integrity who always followed his conscience to reach the right and just outcome.

He loved nothing more than being a father. His two daughters meant the world to him. His love for them was boundless. That love will continue to nurture us and we will pass it on to his daughters.

Roger will be remembered for his moral rectitude, generosity, nurturing of children, and deep love of friends and family. He will be terribly missed and forever remembered.

If you wish, donations may be made in his memory to Butterfly Haven (https://butterflyhaveninc.com).

I Gao

June 5, 2024

My uncle is the best uncle in the entire world. He never let me down, and he was always there for me. I know he is proud of me, but I wish he were here so bad. I hope he knows how much we all love and miss him.

I did not know Roger but it sounds like he would have been a wonderful person to be friends with. I am so extremely sorry for your loss.
