In Loving Memory of Jo-Ann (Kretschmer) Gerde

Jo-Ann Marie Gerde, of North Royalton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026 with her loving family by her side.

She was born on February 21, 1953, in Queens, NY, to the late Ken and Ann Kretschmer and grew up in Hauppauge, NY and Huntington, NY surrounded by her four younger sisters and brothers. Jo-Ann graduated from Seton Hall High School and Niagara University, then went on to work over 35 years in medical billing, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit.

Jo-Ann was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend who would give the shirt off her back to those she loved. Known for her compassion and sense of humor, she dedicated her life to her family and the people around her. She loved fashion, decorating, shopping for others, family gatherings and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.

She is survived by her children, Annie (Rick) Deisner, Christa (Tarun) Gerde-Katha, and Lauren Gerde; her grandchildren, Carter and Nate; her siblings Donna Orofino, Kenny (Carol) Kretschmer, Kathy Veltri, and Chris (Emma) Kretschmer; her nieces, Sara, Jaclyn, Gracie, and Emily; and her nephews, Joey, Kenny, and Kevin.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, March 7th from 10am to 12pm, with funeral service from 12pm to 12:30, at Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Ave, Avon Ohio 44011.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love, generous spirit, consistent support, and her legacy will live on in all who knew her. She will be greatly missed, forever remembered and always loved.
