A memorial service for Jo Anne (Menefee) Sterling is scheduled for 10 a.m. December 6, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville with a private family burial at a later date.
Jo Anne (Menefee) Sterling, 62, of La Grange, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Kyle, Texas after a lengthy illness. Born in Houston, Texas, on September 30, 1963, Jo Ann graduated from La Grange High School in 1982. She was a devoted mother, sister, and friend who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Jo Anne loved music, cooking, and sharing her heart through service especially during her many years working at the local cleaners, where she was known for her kindness and warm smile. She was preceded in death by her Parents Frank, Sr. and Betty Jean Menefee, and her niece Jamie Ocanas Stokes.
She is survived by her children: Mandeline Sterling of Fort Worth; Danny Polasek, Jr. and Melissa of College Station; Samantha Sterling Evans and Austin of Painted Post, New York; Shelbe Sterling of McKinney; and Preston Vega of La Grange. She is also survived by her siblings: Frank Menefee, Jr. and Diane, Michael Menefee and Anissa, Karen Menefee Ocanas and David; as well as five grandchildren, five nieces, one nephew, and many dear friends. Jo Anne will be remembered for her laughter, generosity, and the love she poured into her family and community.
The family requests that memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
