Denis Antony Mohar

A Celebration of Life for Denis Antony Mohar is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at his church, St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville, Texas.

Denis Mohar, 56 of Round Top, passed away on November 10, 2025 in Austin. He was born in St. Charles, Illinois on September 10, 1969 to Tony Mohar and Mary Virginia (Till). He moved from Illinois to Kerryville in 1976 and then to Rockport in 1980, where he went to high school. Denis earned his bachelor’s degree in project management and later became a commercial electrician, working for Commercial Electric in Giddings for approximately 15 years.

Denis was very talented and enjoyed working with his hands. He also enjoyed researching anything and everything to ensure he knew as much as he could about it. Denis also enjoyed singing with the Dead-End Singers, a local group at church.

Denis is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Jannell (Lairmore) Mohar; mother-in-law, Norma SoRelle; sisters, Kathlee Jenkins (DeVaughn Abry), and Jennifer Groom; sister-in-law, Lilly Lairmore; brother-in-law, Charles Buckman (Jessica); along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Donny SoRelle; brothers, James O’Neil, Danny O’Neil and Michael Thrun; sister, Juanita Thrun; and brother-in-law, Gene Lairmore.
