Jo Ellen Bush, age 62, of Alton, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at her home.
She was born April 25, 1963, in Alton, the daughter of Robert F. and Elizabeth (Zigrang) Stutz. She married Terry Bush in June of 1987, at Gordon Moore Park in Alton and he preceded her in death on September 6, 2007.
Jo Ellen was an avid boater and member of the Alton Motorboat Club. She will be remembered for her love of meeting and talking with people. Jo Ellen enjoyed gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Jo Ellen is survived by her mother, Elizabeth "Liz" Stutz of Alton; two children and their spouses, Stephanie and Brian Mueller of St. Charles, and Clay and Lindsay Bush of Alton, IL; five siblings and their spouses, Steven Stutz and his significant other, Kim Butler, of Alton, Gay Lynn Garner and her significant other, John Booher, of Alton, James and Kelli Stutz of Alton, Thomas J. and Barbara Stutz of Alton, and Richard E. and Jeri Stutz of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Luke Mueller, Paige Mueller, and Millie Bush; several nieces and nephews; and many other friends and relatives.
In addition to her husband, Terry; she was also preceded in death by her father.
Private services will be held at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Jim Kiel officiating.
She will be buried at Zimmerman Cemetery in Dorsey.
