Jo Anne Cook

Jo Anne Persinger Cook passed away on December 21, 2025. She was born on June 21, 1950 in Fort Worth to J Irvirn Persinger and Betty Jean Craft Persinger. She was the youngest of three children; sister, Coet (husband,Steven) and brother, Robert (fiancée, Annamarie Barnes). Sadly, Robert passed away Nov 20th 2020.
She spent the first years of her life in Fort Worth. When she was in the 8th grade, the family moved to Burleson, where she graduated from high school.
In 1968 she met and married a man in uniform, a cute, brown eyed soldier, James Cook, Jr. In October 1969, their son, James Cook, III was born.
During James' 21 years of active duty, they lived on various bases in the states and spent four years in Germany, which Jo Anne truly enjoyed. In 1984, James retired and the family moved to Georgetown, TX. Sadly, James passed away Dec. 12th, 1988.
Two years later, she met Ted Hoffmann and they have been together ever since. During their time together they traveled overseas, took cruises together, and spent countless hours on the dance floor while enjoying life together.
Jo Anne is survived by her son, James Cook and his wife, Honei; Ted, her fiancé, and his children: Mark, Patrick, Richard and, James Hoffmann and Jane Hoffmann Gordon; and a combined 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; her sister Coet and husband, Steven, and their children Clay Sanker, Christopher Sanker, Cole McPeek, and Marci Walton (husband, Jason), and a combined three great nephews and three great nieces.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present at this time to receive friends. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Plum. A reception will be held immediately after the funeral mass in the parish hall. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn. Honored to serve as active pallbearers are: Mark, Patrick, Richard and James Hoffmann, and nephews: Clay and Christoper Sanker. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are: Steve Janda, David Janda, Dick Janda, Dr. James Tiemann, and David Tiemann.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Pancreatic Cancer Association, or to a charity of one's choice.
