Jo Ann Corry, 92, of Vandalia, IL, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Per Jo Ann's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church. Jo Ann Kistler was born on August 06, 1932 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Paul and Faye (Ireland) Kistler. Jo Ann worked various jobs throughout the years; she was employed by Vandalia Fruit and Produce, Vandalia Correctional Center, Pizza Hut, and became a caretaker and did in-home healthcare for many years.
When able, Jo Ann loved to league bowl; where she won many trophies, play BINGO, attend church, and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Ms. Corry is survived by her son, Brad Dunaway with Regina Myers of Vandalia; daughter, Lisa Corry of Vandalia; sister, Paula Newlin of West Chicago; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Kent and Scott Dunaway; brothers, Bob, Joe, and Wayne Kistler; sisters, Betty Schaal, Carol Fenton, and Sue Keyes; and a granddaughter, Jessica Dunaway.
