Nancy Ann Childress, age 71, of Vandalia, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Nancy was born June 15, 1954 the daughter of Dale Britt and Winifred (Harvey) Britt. She worked several places over the years, including McDonald's and Bluff Equipment. She was the choir director and organist for the First Christian Church in Vandalia, as well as, a substitute teacher and honor choir director for Vandalia schools. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her daughters; Chanel Childress and Rachelle Childress, her grandchildren; Maddison Pitts, Presley Childress, Ryder Davis, and Morgan Davis, and her brother; John (Terri) Britt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her good friends; Jim and Mary Lynn Bowen.

Memorial services will be held Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church in Vandalia, IL, officiated by Ethan Jones. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM also on November 10, 2025 at the First Christian Church in Vandalia, IL. Memorials can be made out to the First Christian Church in Vandalia, IL. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL is in charge of arrangements. I was a classmate of Nancy´s. I enjoyed our time with her at our weekly dinners. She always had a smile on her face. She will truly be missed by all of us.
