Jo Ann Dotson, 87, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday February 18, 2025, in her home.
There will be no formal services for Jo Ann. Memorials are suggested to Ronald McDonald House and can be sent in care of Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Online Condolences can be left at www.beckerdyer.com
Jo Ann was born on December 7, 1937, in the family home at Sugar Lake, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Irene (Brown) Black. Jo Ann married Carl E. Dotson on March 5, 1955, he preceded her in death on October 9, 2011. Jo Ann was an avid reader throughout life, she also enjoyed her antiques, doing crossword puzzles, sitting on her deck swing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Jo Ann is survived by daughter Kathy (Rodney) Knowles, Atchison, Kansas, son Terry Dotson, Nortonville, Kansas, grandchildren Teresa (Mike) Boldridge and Carla (Rick) Thompson, great-grandchildren Tanner and Kelsea Ford, Kayla, Dane, and Dotson Spilman, Brittney Boldridge, Mackenzie Page, Mackena, Kamren, Caleb, and Max Thompson, and Cayden Dotson, great-great grandchildren Zaden, Zavien, Jaitèn, Jaylen, and one due in August, sister Sherry (Larry) McElfresh, Rushville, Missouri, many nieces and nephews, and former daughter-in-law Tammy Dotson. Jo Ann is preceded by her parents, husband Carl, brother Frankie Black, sister Joyce Park, and grandson Christopher Dotson
