STERLINGTON, LA - Jo Johnson Simmons of Sterlington passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on August 19 th, 2025. Jo was born on February 6, 1939 in Natchez, Mississippi, where she lived throughout childhood. She spent the majority of her adult life in the Monroe and Bastrop areas. She is preceded in death by her parents Elaine Oglesby Johnson and Martin Christopher Johnson, as well as two brothers, Jerry Johnson and Wayne Johnson.

In high school Jo met the love of her life, Bob Simmons. They were married and enjoyed over 65 wonderful years building a beautiful life together.

Jo is survived by her husband Bob, son Jeff Simmons of Bastrop and his wife Robin. She is also survived by daughter Suzanne Simmons Cataldie of Woodworth and her husband Louis. Jo and Bob were blessed with grandchildren Lindsey Curtis and her husband Christian, Hunter Simmons and his wife Victoria, and Max Cataldie. Several years ago Hunter and Victoria presented Jo and Bob with beautiful twin great grandchildren, Caroline and Luke Simmons.

Jo always had a strong bond with her sister-in-law, Almyra Johnson. For over 60 years they told people they were much more like sisters than sisters-in-law.
