Joan V. Adduce, 88. passed away on August 31, 2018 in Oviedo, Florida, She was born on February 28, 1930 in Nyack, New York to the late John Durant Vanderbeek Sr. and Ureebell J. Wiedman. Joan is a graduate of Spring Valley High School, class of 1948. After graduation she worked for Avon in Suffern, NY where she met the love of her life, Anthony Adduce. Joan left working for Avon to be a homemaker, raising her 3 children.

Joan was a woman of great faith. She was a long time member of Tallman Bible Church in Tallman, NY where she was the Missionary President, Ladies Aid, Sunday School Teacher, Camera Club member, Deaconess, Vacation Bible School teacher and Bible Club leader. Joan was an artist with the children, her activities included Biblical chalk drawings for Bible teachings as well as painting and chalk-drawings for home décor. She was a natural when it came to games, treasure hunts, stories, décor, gifts and more. Joan was a member of her neighborhood breakfast club in Spring Valley, NY, a member of the Christian Women's Club of Orlando, FL and a member of Friendship Bible Coffees in Orlando, FL. She was a longtime volunteer for Give Kids the World. For over 15 years Joan attended First Baptist Church of Orlando, until she could no longer drive and would watch the sermon's on television.

Joan enjoyed Disney and Sea World as an annual pass holder for many years. She attended many tea parties with her 2 daughters, family, and friends. In her spare time she would frequent garage sales, loved to shop anywhere she could and she with her husband Tony would go out to eat at their favorite restaurant often, visit flea markets and enjoy local festivals. Joan was a marvelous baker who was known for her delicious pumpkin pie, brown bread, chocolate chip cookies, decorative apple cakes and her blitz torte cake.

Joan is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Anthony 'Tony' Adduce, parents John Durant Vanderbeek Sr. and Ureebell J. Wiedman, her parents-in-law Theresa and Michael Adduce Sr., brothers-and-sisters-in-law William Frank (Killed in Action, World War II Veteran), Frances Buono (Anthony), Joseph Adduce (June), Florence Kelly (Mathew), Michael Adduce Jr., John Adduce (Gail), Charles Adduce (Gloria), RoseMarie Frontino (John). son-in-law, Michael S. Vitale, and her great-grandson Jaxson Cole Williamson as well as many nephews and nieces. She is survived by her daughter Deborah A. Maier (Fred) of Kissimmee, FL, daughter Vicki Vitale of Oviedo, FL, son Anthony Adduce Jr. (Darin) of Orlando, FL, brother John D. Vanderbeek Jr. (Dorothy) of Monroe, NC, her brothers-and-sisters-in-law Audrey Adduce, Alfred Adduce (Carol), Richard Adduce (Pat), her granddaughters Kimberly Anne Williamson of Fort Myers, Cori-Lynn Maier Gillespie (Erik) of Casselberry, FL and her great-grandchildren Isabella Roaslie Williamson, Kilee Marie Gillespie, Ashlynn Alece Williamson, Alexis Rose Gillespie, Kameron Kole Williamson and MacKenzie Deborah Gillespie as well as many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces. Joan will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Grissom Funeral Home in Kissimmee, Florida. No service date has been set at this time.
