Joan L. (Schwamb) Albertini, cherished wife, mother, and grandmother died on December 19, 2022. Joan spent most of her life caring for her family, but in the later years of her life she was lovingly cared for by her family and caregivers. She spent her final days at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Joan was born on November 4, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts. She was raised in Arlington, Massachusetts, where she met her beloved husband, Frank.
In 1958 she married her high school sweetheart, Frank. They raised three children in Arlington, later moving to Bedford, Salem, NH, and finally to Ayer.
As a young woman Joan worked for New England Telephone. After raising her children, she worked at The Gift Center in Bedford, as a showroom manager. Becoming a grandmother was one of Joan’s greatest joys.
Joan and Frank loved spending time with their grandchildren. Their devotion to each other during their 64 years of marriage was always evident in every aspect of their lives.
Joan is survived by her children, James Albertini of Arlington, John Albertini of Belgrade, ME, Joanne Williams and her husband Robert Williams of Harvard, her grandchildren, Mitchell Williams of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Carly Williams of Somerville, and her brother, Clinton Schwamb of Mattapoisett. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis Albertini, her parents, Clinton and Mildred (Carney) Schwamb, and her brother, George Schwamb.
