Joan F. Ardrey

Joan F. Ardrey, a native of Ohio and resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the age of 89.
After raising five children in Toldeo, Ohio, Joan began an interesting career as their family moved about the country. She started out working as an Administrative Secretary at Condell Hospital; she then went to work as Secretary to the President of Yale University Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut; then she worked as Secretary to the President of Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, New Jersey; she was an Executive Secretary for Administrations of Essex Medical Center in Essex, Connecticut; she worked for a stock broker in Connecticut; she was a Secretary for the Coca Cola Bottling Company regional office in Cincinnati; she worked for Air Cruiser in New Jersey, which later became Honeywell; and for the last 15 years, she has been a volunteer at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL, working in the surgery waiting room every Monday at 6AM.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ester Hanna; and two sisters, Mary Claire DiPofi and Sheila Hanna.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Ardrey, Jr.; five children, Diane Burmeister (Steve) of Grayslake, IL, Linda Du Pasquier (Aurelien) of Westford, MA, Douglas Ardrey of Milford, CT, Sandra Schepis (Scott) of Wall Township, NJ and Kenneth Ardrey (Carina) of Gulf Breeze, FL; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Joan on Wednesday, July 3,2024 at 10 AM. The Mass will be offered at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 370 S. Section Street in Fairhope, AL. A time of visitation with the family will be offered beforehand at 9 AM in the St. Lawrence Room. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
