Joan G. Bange, a native of Narvon, PA and resident of Pine City, NY, passed away on February 7, 2024. She was 77. Born November 19, 1946 to the late Paul R. and Anna (Gehman) Weaver, Joan dedicated her life to her family and church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: brother David Weaver; brother Myron Weaver, and his wife Rachel; and her daughter-in-law Mary Jane (Martin) Bange.
She is survived by: her husband of 56 years, Clarence E. Bange; three sons – Jay D. Bange and wife Charlotte, Joseph L. Bange and wife Joy, and Clarence A. Bange; four daughters – June E. Shertzer and husband Jonathan, Carolyn A. Kreider and husband Travis, Clara J. Yeager and husband Linford, and Connie E. Weaver and husband Jonathan; brother Dale Weaver and wife Dorothy; two sisters – Rhoda Strite and husband Lewis, and Miriam Rudolph and husband Philip; sister-in-law Orpha Weaver; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM at Union Valley Mennonite Church, 2071 Battle Creek Road in Ulster, PA. Services will resume the following day, Monday, February 12, 2024 at North Rome Wesleyan Church, 3374 N. Rome Road in Rome, PA with a brief visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until her funeral service begins at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow immediately at Darling Cemetery, 28 Kadar Road in Rome, PA.
Pastor Bernell Burkholder will officiate. Pall bearers will be Jerry Bange, Willis Bange, Douglas Bange, Craig Bange, Jeffrey Shertzer, and Jarell Shertzer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY.
