Joan I. Beine (nee Scholtes), 86, of Slinger, WI, passed away at The Waterford of Hartford, WI due to complications of Alzheimer's, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
Joan was born on April 9th, 1937 in Hartford, WI to Leo and Irene Scholtes (Kreilkamp). Joan was a 1955 graduate of Hartford High School. Joan married the love of her life, Earl Beine, on June 30, 1956, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Earl preceded her in death in 2012. The couple resided and raised their family in Hartford until settling in Slinger in 1990. Joan worked as a teller at Hartford Exchange Bank for many years and then went on to work for Reul vending until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards with many friends and family members. Joan enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Bucks and local high school basketball games. Joan was a people person and made friends easily. She was an avid baker and shared her goodies with many people. She also kept busy with her ceramic projects. She held a special place in her heart for the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She adored her loving dog Benji who now resides with Keith and Joyce. She babysat for her grandchildren and great granddaughter along with many neighbor kids and friends' children after her retirement.
Joan is survived by her cherished children Keith (Joyce) Beine of West Bend and Karen (Jeff) Meyer of St. Lawrence, adored granddaughters, Nicole (Lucas) Lemberger, Holly (Russ) Beine and Amy Meyer (Kyle Fassbender); Special great-granddaughter Lacey Beine, step great-grandson Logan Lemberger and step great-granddaughter Leah Lemberger; dear sister Marilyn (Erv) Koepp of West Bend, brother Bob (Linda) Scholtes of Florida and sister-in-law Joan Beine of Slinger. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley (Marvin) Christ and brother Donald Scholtes; sisters and brothers in law, Richard Beine, Dorothy (Norman) Doll and Bernice (Frank) Otto.
The family of Joan would like to thank the staff at The Gardens of Hartford, the Waterford, and Preceptor (Hospice) for the exceptional care and Father Rick for all his prayers and comfort during this difficult time.
