Ms. Joan Pilcher Blount, age 74, of Meansville, passed away December 13, 2022.
Ms. Joan was born on January 14, 1948, to the late Herbert and Dora Pilcher. She was a lifelong resident of Pike County. She worked as a seamstress for Sherri Lynn Manufacturing for many years. Ms. Joan attended Meansville Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. Her favorite pastime, however, was spending time with her family and grandbabies. Ms. Joan will be remembered as an adoring mother and grandmother.
Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Blount Wheeler, and sisters, Jean Salter and Sara Bishop.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Danny and Jennifer Blount of Houston, TX, and Doug and Angela Blount of Milner; sister: Elaine Berry of Thomaston; brother: Doug Pilcher and his wife Yvonne of Thomaston, grandchildren: Paul (Amanda) Whitfield, Brad (Jennifer) Whitfield, Chris (Destiny) Wheeler, Chloe Blount, Chelsea Blount, Bailey (Josiah) Daugherty and Bryce Blount; great-grandchildren: Addyson Whitfield, Jagger Brown, Asher Brown, Easton Whitfield, Temperance Wheeler and Eli Wheeler.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, December 15th at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family beginning at 12 PM at the funeral home. Pastor Billy Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Mountain Church of the Nazarene Cemetery.
