Joan T. Conversa, formerly of Hickory Hills and late of Lemont, passed away Tuesday, February 21st at home surrounded by her loving family. She is the loving mother of Kathleen (Tom) Rogowski, Michael (Eve) Conversa, Joseph (Paula) Conversa, and the late John Conversa; Cherished grandmother of Nicholas (Julieanne) Rogowski, Andrew Rogowski, Ryan Conversa, Maria Conversa, and the late Eammon Conversa; Step-Grandmother of Matthew Shepard; Doting Great-Grandmother to Emilia Rogowski; Dear sister of Maureen (Late George) Rohrbach; Many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her son and grandson, she was preceded in death by her parents, James and Florence McLaughlin. Joan was a member of the Teamster union, working in the office at ATL Truck Lines. In later years she was the manager of the Lemont VFW and worked in the office at Interventions Rehab Facility. In her spare time, she enjoyed entertaining, cooking and watching cooking shows. In keeping with her wishes, private cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Mass for the repose of her soul will take place at St. James at Sag Bridge Catholic Church, 10600 Archer Ave. in Lemont on Saturday, March 4th at 11:30 AM. Due to Joan’s larger than life personality, a Celebration of her Life will be held at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, 1 Pete Dye Drive in Lemont following the mass and beginning at 1:00 PM, lasting until 6:00 PM. The Celebration will reflect her life with food, drinks and an open mic memorial service which will take place at 2:00 PM.
