Springfield - Joan Lee Knight was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, and died peacefully May 16, 2024, at Concordia Village – Lutheran Senior Services in Springfield, Illinois.
Joan grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa, with her grandparents, Nora and Harvey Postlewaite, spending summers in Chicago with her aunt and uncle, Millie and Jack Ecklund. She married David M. Cramblit on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 1946, at the United Methodist Church in Ottumwa. Joan was preceded in death by her grandparents; her aunt and uncle; her beloved husband, David (2007); and an infant son, Gordon.
Joan is survived by their son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Becky Cramblit (Springfield, Illinois); daughter, Miggie Cramblit (St. Paul, Minnesota); grandchildren Mackenzie Cramblit (St. Paul, Minnesota), Olivia Cramblit (Pine Mountain Club, California) and Walker Cramblit (Maddie) (Springfield, Illinois); great-granddaughter, Ora Rose, daughter of Walker and Maddie; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LSS (Lutheran Senior Services) Living Foundation, 1150 Hanley Industrial Court, St. Louis, MO 63144.
