Joan Delores Crowson

Joan Delores Degraffenried Crowson was born on July 7, 1947 in Alamance County, North Carolina to Carrie Degraffenried Jeffries as was reared in love and care in Graham, North Carolina in the home of her loving grandparents, the late C.T. and Erma Degraffenried. She entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2025 while she was being cared for by the staff of White Oak Manor.
Joan was a graduate of Central High School, Graham, North Carolina as furthered her educational endeavors by taking several post-secondary courses with a focus on Pre-Nursing. She was a devoted member of Woods Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. During her years of membership, she involved with the Missionaries, Usher Board, Kitchen Committee, Choir, Stewardess Board and the Tiny-Tots. In her spare time, Joan loved crafting, fashion, serving the community, spending time with family. She loved helping others and she will be dearly missed.
Joan leaves behind a legacy of love, which will be cherished by: her beloved husband, Larry Crowson; son, Laurentis Crowson of Burlington, NC and daughter Ja'Netta (Charles) Kennedy of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Tevonte (Aisha) Crowson, Viktoria Crowson, Brandon Kennedy, and Sierra Kennedy; five great grandchildren Ivy Crowson, Omari Crowson, Uziah Crowson, Alayah Willis, and Kaden Willis; one brother Maverick (Helen) Jeffries; two sisters Sheliah (Harold) Cobb and Beverly Jeffries; an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In her passing she now joins her mother and stepfather: Carrie Degraffenried Jeffries and Thaddeus Jeffries and her grandparents: C.T. and Erma Degraffenried.
