Joan (Joanie) A. Ebacher, of Wis. Rapids, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Joan and her twin sister, Jane, were born on 3-7-38 in Pittsville WI at home, to Phillip and Lillian (Brown) Behselich. Joan is survived by children: Wendy (Dennis) Williams, Iola, WI; Terry Bliek, Wis. Rapids, WI. Grandchildren: Rebecca (Scott) Paulson, Scandinavia, WI; Jason (Amy) Dorshorst, Iola, WI; Hilary (Colin) Dunn, Green Bay, WI; Holly Williams (Kirstie Laatsch), Sun Prairie, WI. Stepchildren: Colleen Ebacher (David Rini), Baltimore MD, Cathy Ebacher (Alex Dittrich) Menomonee Falls WI, Allen Ebacher, Wis. Rapids, WI. Sister: Jane Anderson, Marshfield, WI. Great-Grandchildren: Eathan and Sawyer Paulson, Wyatt, Benjamin and Lillian Dorshorst. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Ronald Ebacher; daughter, Pamela Jean Bliek; Parents, Phillip and Lillian Behselich; brother, George (Geraldine) Behselich; brother, Robert (Darlene) Behselich; sister, Catherine (William) Schroeder; sister Annalee (Tom) Hagen; brother-in-law, Donald Anderson. Stepsons, Tim Ebacher and Tom Ebacher. Joan attended high school at Mary Heart High School in Pittsville, WI and graduated in 1956. She married Martin J. Bliek Jr. on October 12, 1956. They later divorced. Joan married Ronald Ebacher on June 16, 2001, in Wis. Rapids. Ron passed away on April 13, 2024. Joan's first career was as a wife and mother. She gave her children unconditional love and taught them patience, empathy and courage to face anything. Her next career included positions in retail sales at Johnson Hills, JC Penney and Lands' End. Joan taught CCD for 11 years. She was a Perpetual Adoration volunteer at the Marian Center in Wis. Rapids for 17 years ending in February 2024. She was a member of the Aspirus Hospital Auxiliary as a volunteer. Joan was a remarkable woman in her own quiet way. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend and will be remembered for her kind, caring and generous spirit. She had a warm hello and welcoming smile for everyone. She possessed an inner beauty that shined through. She was a spiritual woman and her prayers for family and friends were always welcome. Her faith carried her through life and her resiliency and courage helped her face all of life's challenges. She taught her family how to live life through her quiet, courageous ways and to show kindness and consideration for others. For most of her life Joan crafted and created original works. She had an amazing eye for decorating and arranging her home beautifully. She also painted: ceramics, watercolor and wood. She earned many awards for her beautiful creations at shows and craft fairs. She passed down her love of crafts and creating to her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the warmth and generosity she brought into the lives of those around her. Joan's family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Edenbrook Nursing and Rehab in Wis Rapids for the care and compassion she received while living there and to Heartland Hospice for their support and care during this time. Funeral services will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wis. Rapids on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00-time of service.
