Robert "Rob" McGregor, also known as "Kindu Abby" was born on June 8, 1982, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, USA, was a creative, funny, supportive, witty soul who left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Known for his vibrant personality and clever humor, Rob was a beacon of light and laughter to all who knew him, embodying the essence of the quote, "The purpose of our lives is to be happy." His love for the Golden Girls, his work within the LGBTQ community, and his devotion to animals reflected his compassionate spirit and zest for life.

Rob graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 2000 and was a dedicated employee at Wisconsin Mutual Insurance. He was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan, and his hobbies included swimming, bowling, darts, and volleyball. His creativity and supportive nature led him to be very active in the LGBTQ community in Madison and Wisconsin Rapids, where he organized many Drag Shows with the proceeds going to local charities. He was a key founder of the Wisconsin Rapids Pride, and his tireless efforts and drive to make a difference in his community are a testament to his character.

Rob is survived by his mother, Linda (Carlton) McGregor; his siblings, Lori Zimmerman, Amy Zimmerman, Jennifer McGregor, and James (Sher) McGregor; his nieces and nephews, Destiny (Jesus Valero) Zimmerman, Dre Kramer, Spencer Dane Tyson, and Sean McGregor; and his great-niece, Estrella Valero. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, David McGregor.

A visitation will be held at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 1:00pm CDT, followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm CDT.
