Joan K. (Leahy) Ferzoco, 73, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Daughter of Barbara A. (Farrell) Silva of Canton and the late John F. Leahy, she was born in Boston and raised in Canton. She was a graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1969 and Massasoit Community College. She resided in Stoughton since 1984. Joan worked for Kemper Insurance in Plymouth and drove for L’eggs for several years before being a homemaker to her family. Her life was marked by resilience and kindness. She could strike a conversation with anyone she met and spread humor and warmth. Joan was the definition of a survivor. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at a young age, and numerous health issues, she persevered until her body became too tired. May her memory bring peace and comfort to all who knew and loved her.
Joan is survived by her loving children, Jennifer F. Neto and her husband Marco of Norwood, Edward V. Ferzoco of Roslindale, James Ferzoco and his wife Lisa of Stoughton, Angela Hart and her husband Patrick and Gina Ferzoco all of East Bridgewater as well as her beloved grandchildren, Braulio, Lorenzo, Olivia, Leonardo, Giovanni, Colin, Greyson and Michael. She was the sister of the late Jack Leahy. She is also survived by her former husband Edward A. Ferzoco, her best-friend and sister Fredricka Sweeting and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, January 17 from 10 AM – 12 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 12 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan‘s memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 91891, Washington, DC 20090-1891 (https://www.nationalmssociety.org/).
