Joan Fishel, 83, of Plainfield, peacefully passed away surrounded by loving family members on August 12, 2025. She was born on October 26, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Joseph and Gladys (Disney) Elkin. Joan was a graduate of Mooresville High School, class of 1960. She later married Jerry Fishel on July 30, 1961 and were happily married for 64 years. They had three sons, Brad, Jeff, and Todd, who kept her on her toes as a full time mom and homemaker throughout the years. She enjoyed following her sons to various sporting events and activities, and taking care of grand-kids before and after school. Joan was a member of Mt. Gilead Christian Church in Mooresville. She is preceded in death by a brother, Harlan Elkin. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m., where friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow to Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her loving husband, Jerry Fishel; sons, Todd (Lori) Fishel, Jeffery (Martha Smith) Fishel, Bradley (Stephanie) Fishel; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea, Sara, Cameron, Marley, Chloe and Madisyn; 1 great grandson, J.J.
