Joan E. Greif, 93, of Newburgh, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Heart to Heart Hospice surrounded by family. She was born January 23, 1932 in Evansville to the late John and Mary Louise (Phares) Jennings.
Joan was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Evansville Country Club and her bridge club. She was a devoted wife and mother of seven children and a caring homemaker. Joan also enjoyed playing tennis and golf.
Joan is survived by her children, Gloria (Kevin) Caron, Jennifer (Geoff) Forbes, Emilie (Kevin) East, Gregory Greif, Dr. John (Samantha) Greif and Joseph (Krista) Greif; grandchildren, Lydia, Michael, Andrew, Robert, Alexander, Melissa, Gabrielle, Marissa, Dylan, Joelle, Grant, Abby, Charles, Lukas, Scarlette, Hailey and Nathan; 15 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Julie Greif; sisters-in-law, Janie (Gary) Hayden and Mary (Bob) Hayes; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dr. L. Charles "Bud" Greif; son, Michael Jennings Greif; and brother, John Jennings, Jr.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church with Father Bernie Etienne officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Road, Evansville, IN 47715.

Joan was such a sweet precious Lady. Was honored to care for her. She was loved by staff and residents. Always displayed a greatfull heart for her life and family God blessed her with. She is so missed!! She was beautiful from the inside and outside. My condolences to her family that loved and cared for her so deeply. Her family was her greatest love and she was so proud of each one of you. Pray for you during this time.
