Guse, Joan M.

(nee Steingraeber) Reunited with her beloved husband of 54 years, Carroll "Lee" Guse on Sunday, March 13, 2022 age 78 years. Beloved mother of Jill (Steve) Smith, Karen (John) Drexler and Sandra (Richard) VanZeeland. Sister-in-law of Beverly Walkowiak. Special aunt of Jeffrey Walkowiak. Great-aunt of Sarah and Katelyn. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Joan was an avid reader, remarkable speller, and rarely lost to anyone who dared challenge her at a game of Scrabble. She was proud of her volunteer work as a young adult in the Civil Air Patrol as well as her many years as a part-time medical transcriptionist at Aurora. She enjoyed spending time with family, going out to dinner and the casino, and playing cards and other games. She also enjoyed shopping, baking, crocheting, and embroidery, and was always making special desserts and gifts for others. She had a soft spot for cats that provided her with comfort and happiness throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose kindness and goofy sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will gather at the Heritage Funeral home, 6615 W. Oklahoma Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53219 on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 3-4 PM. Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM.

Jill, Karen, and Sandy, I was absolutely heartbroken to learn about your mom's passing. She was always such an adorable, sweet lady and one of my favorite people. I know you three have wonderful loving memories of her. Please keep them in your hearts and minds during this difficult time. Love, Lisa Berry
