Joan C. Hoaglund
May 4, 1933 - February 14, 2025
Joan Carol Hoaglund, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, just in time to celebrate Valentine's Day with her sweetheart, Don, in heaven. Joan was born May 4, 1933 in Racine, Wis., the daughter of the late Joseph and Leone (VanLanduyt) Fredericks.
Joan attended Washington Park High School. She married Don R. Hoaglund on April 7, 1951. They enjoyed 69 wonderful years of marriage. Joan worked at Horlick Field and Racine Zoo concession stands (Hoagies concessions) and lastly at Johnson Park Golf course where she served breakfast and lunch for 31 years. Her hobbies included bowling, ceramics, bingo, playing cards, and her yearly trips to Las Vegas. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Joan will be dearly missed by her children, Daniel (Sandra) Hoaglund, Gary Hoaglund, Richard (Eva) Hoaglund, Scott Hoaglund, Karen (Bill) Knauer, Janis Hoaglund, Renee Jaber, Diane (Todd, fiancé) Phelps, Thomas (Robin) Hoaglund, Michelle (Stephen) Sylvester, Mary (John) Andersen; 37 grandchildren and spouses; and 62 great-grandchildren and spouses; and three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Patricia Radke, Roberta Noe, Thomas Fredericks, Jerry Fredericks; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband Don; son, Donald and (Diane) Hoaglund; son-in-law, Mark Jaber; grandson, Joseph; sisters, Delores (Chester) Olmstead, Lois (Charles) Rode; brother, Ronald (Marlene) Fredericks; in-laws, Sandy Fredericks and Roy Radke.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with a Celebration of Joan's Life Service to start at 11:30 a.m. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or
