Joan P. (Hines) Holeczy, age 76, of Tionesta, formerly of Crafton Heights, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025. Beloved wife of 54 years to Gene F. Holeczy. Loving mother of Amy (Drew) Blank, Ann (Chris) Gargis, and Timothy (Melissa) Holeczy. Cherished grandmother of Mason Blank, Alexander Blank, Peter Gargis, Thomas Gargis, William Gargis, and Emma Holeczy. Sister of Jacquelin Mingrino, the late Peter, Michael, Tony and Ruth Hines, and Susan E. Gannon. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She was brave and strong and always put the needs of others before her own. She made people feel at home and welcome. She was a safe place for so many. She was a confidant, trusted advisor, loyal friend, fierce protector and a peacekeeper. To some she was a hero. She was proudest of her work as a caregiver to babies and young children. She helped many families over the years and loved their children like her own. She inspired people and was especially loved by children, her grandchildren most of all. Service and interment are private. Contributions in Joan's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org. Arrangements entrusted to SCHEPNER-McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 165 Noble Avenue, Crafton.
