Joan Hughes Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
at the Residence at Bedford.
She was born in Cambridge, February 14, 1945, a daughter of the late William and Agnes Thomas and was raised in Somerville and moved to Billerica in 1968.
Joan was employed at Mitre Corp. for many years and then with her husband was the former co-owner of REMAX Realty. She was an active communicant of St. Theresa Church in Billerica.
Besides her husband, Joan is survived by her sons, John E. Hughes III of Billerica and Christopher M. Hughes and his wife Kerry also of Billerica; her sister, Patricia O'Gara of Billerica and her brother, William Thomas of Billerica. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan, Conner and Sean.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, August 20 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan's name to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org
Her burial will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
