Joan Jakubiec Obituary

Published by A.H. Peters Funeral Home - Grosse Pointe Woods on Dec. 4, 2016.
Joan Allison Jakubiec was born on March 12, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan and entered into rest December 4, 2016 in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan at the age of 78. Joan was the dearest mother of Ray (Kim), Kathy (Tim) Folmar, Jim (Karen) and Thomas (Biljana). She was precious grandmother to Tim, Brian, Raymond, Delayna, Thomas and Alex. Joan was the dearest daughter of the late Harold and Genevieve Pearse (nee Dolan), and sister of Fred (Kathy) Pearse and Dan (Marianne) Pearse. She was also sister-in-law to Carol Garr and Ron (Laura) Jakubiec. The way Joan lived her life will always be remembered because it positively impacted so many others, and was a beautiful example shown by her faith and love of her church, family and friends. Joan was dedicated to her faith and was a longtime parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She remained active helping others in the church and through her volunteering with organizations such as Beaumont Hospital and Hospice of Michigan. Joan loved her family and relatives dearly and enjoyed every opportunity to be with them and to be an active part of their lives. Joan was also blessed to have an incredible group of friends and social groups to interact with. We know that Joan will be missed by all who knew her. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on December 10th at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Mack Avenue, St. Clair Shores with visitation from 9:30 AM until time of Mass at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends and family at the AH Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods on December 9th from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM

I´m so sorry to discover that Joan passed away a few years ago. She came to visit my mother so faithfully after my father passed away in 2015 while they were both at Shorepointe/Cranberry Park Assisted Living. My mom just passed away on August 13, 2021at the age of 101. While sorting through my moms things, I came across Joan´s address and was going to send her a note... I´m sure they´re chatting up in heaven now!

Joanie was such a special soul. I just learned today that she passed and I am so sorry that I was not able to pay my respects to her. She was a dear friend to my parents, Joe and Mary Ann Zanglin and will always hold a very special place in my heart. My Deepest Sympathies, Therese Gorski

Oh Joanie, we were so shocked to hear that you have left us..Heaven\'s newest angel, with so much angel-practice on Earth...you left us with gratitude for all your kindness and spirit and, of course, for playing Cupid to introduce us to our future spouse!! No person was more caring than you and we love you. Love, (The other)Joannie and Mitch
