Obituary for Joan M. Keating

Joan M. Keating of Milton passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025 at the age of 89. She will be remembered by her family and friends as kindhearted, devoted, and a little spunky.

Joan loved her 42-year career at Boston Mutual, gardening (she would head out in the morning and come in with the setting sun), dining with friends (DelFrisco's every Thursday), reading (British mysteries were her favorites), cashmere, scallops, Stingers, self-reliance, the New England Patriots, Christmas, songbirds and Dunkin' coffee.

The true joy of Joan's life was her family. She is survived by her sister Ann Kelly and by her four children: David (and Rikki) Keating, Patricia (and William) Kinnealey, Carline (and Sam) Soutter, and John (and Jodi) Keating.

She adored her ten grandchildren: Victoria, Hayley, Sophia, Emily, Harrison, Eliza, Jack, Patrick, Laci and Alexandra. In 2024, she met her first great-grandchild, Theodore, with whom she shared a birthday. She cherished the summers they spent together on the Cape, especially the year she proudly served as the Master of Ceremonies for the family Beer Olympics.

Services will be held in Milton at St. Elizabeth's on Friday, October 24th @ 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon following.
