Joan was born in Ashland, PA., and raised in Glenolden, PA., She graduated from Glen-Nor High School. She worked in registration in the Emergency Department at Springfield Hospital for over 32 years.
Joan is predeceased by her parents Philip and Ione Schmidt and her brother, Philip Schmidt
Survivors: Beloved wife of Wesley G. Kelchner III, loving mother of Kathleen Lauff, cherished MomMom of Ashley (Richard) Guerra and Lauren Lauff. Great MomMom of Briana, Olivia, and Makenna.
Joan & Wes spent countless years at their summer getaway - the campground. They loved square dancing & traveled to numerous cities to dance with their group of friends. Joan loved to cook & bake. She was known for her Christmas cookies, potato salad, meatloaf & for baking Gram's cake for every birthday celebration. She was a lifelong, diehard Eagles fan!
MomMom adored her family, especially her great-granddaughters.
