Joan Carol Koran (née Hoyer), age 87, of Seville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Joan devoted her life to caring for those she loved most-her family. A woman of warmth, strength, and generosity, she found joy in life's simple pleasures; cooking family meals, tending to her garden, and sharing laughter and stories around the table. Joan also cherished the many years she spent golfing alongside her beloved husband of 66 years, Bruce. Together, they built a lifetime of love and memories that will continue to inspire all who knew them.
She was the person who made everyone feel safe. She taught her children and grandchildren to be brave, to love deeply, and to laugh even when life gets hard. She was our best friend and our greatest teacher. She always said that love is the only thing that really matters, and that's what she gave to us every day. The most important thing in her life was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce; her children Laurel (Tim), Michael (Lynn), and Kathy (Billy); her grandchildren Nicole (Earl), Stacy (Brad), Michael (Nicole), Samantha, Alyson (Jonah), Alex, Zach (Erica), and Luke; and her great-grandchildren, Maddie, Abby, Ella, Jackson, Kylie, Finley, Hailey, Brody, and Riley.
Joan's legacy of love, family, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, October 18, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM and ending with a Prayer Service at 3:30 PM, at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St. Lodi, OH 44254.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Cleveland Clinic Hospice in Joan's honor.
