Joan Sylvia Krouth born on April 23, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was the beloved daughter of John Sylvester and Rose Eva (Todt) Miller. She was baptized and later confirmed at St. Malachy's Church in Philadelphia.
On November 4, 1950, Joan was united in marriage to Dale Krouth Sr. at St. Malachy's Church. Together they were blessed with seven children: Joanie, Dale Jr., John, Joe, Dolores, Liz, and Norman. In 1959, due to Dale's service in the U.S. Navy, the family relocated to the Los Angeles area before eventually moving to Litchfield where they lived for many years before settling in Sacred Heart.
Joan devoted herself to raising her children and creating a loving home. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, solving crossword puzzles, playing bingo and more recently, assembling jigsaw puzzles-completing nearly 200 while living at the nursing home. Joan also loved dancing with Dale, camping, and dining at casinos, where she enjoyed the slot machines as much as the food. Her sharp sense of humor and warm spirit made her time with family especially cherished.
Joan is survived by her children: Joanie Goetz of Hesperia, CA; John (Marsha) Krouth of Kerkhoven; Joe (Catherine) Krouth of Litchfield; Liz Helget (fiancé, Doug Viergutz) of Wood Lake; and Norman (Sharon) Krouth of Grove City. She is also survived by her siblings, Betty (Ray) Beers and Art Miller, as well as 28 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Sr.; her parents; her son, Dale Jr.; and daughter, Dolores Frank.
