LaDuke, Joan
COLONIE - Joan (Degen) LaDuke passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, with her loving family by her side, shortly after losing her husband, Roy LaDuke.
Joan was born October 31, 1933, to the late Mabel (LaPlante) and Albert Degen. She grew up in Unionville and graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in 1951 then went on to work at New York Telephone.
Joan married the late Roy LaDuke on September 11, 1954, and they enjoyed 71 years together. They raised their family in Altamont and then moved to Colonie.
She enjoyed Western Square dancing, traveling on bus trips, camping in their RV and wintering in Florida to continue her enjoyment of square dancing. She was a member of Colonie Senior Citizens for many years. She volunteered for over 20 years at Albany Memorial Hospital in the gift shop.
Joan is survived by her loving children, Linda Hoogkamp (Bill), and Brian LaDuke; grandchildren Jeremy Hoogkamp, Nicole Hoogkamp (Frank); and her adored great-grandson, William Hoogkamp. She is also survived by her sisters, Arlene and Marian LaDuke; and many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Flansburg.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning (today), at 11:00 a.m., at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Interment will take place at a later date.
