Joan L. McKeaggan

Joan L. (O'Connell) McKeaggan passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, at the age of 86. She was born on February 22, 1938, in Boston, the daughter of the late Charles and Matilda (Matthews) O'Connell.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late Paul A. McKeaggan, and together they shared a life filled with love and companionship. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances "Cookie" Bickford, Anne Robertson, Florence Grey, and Esther Alison. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, including Peter Bickford of Braintree, Michael Bickford of Haverhill, and Charles Bickford of Needham. Joan was also a great aunt to Sarah Rodriguez, Michael Bickford, Jr., Joshua Bickford, Katie Bickford, Alana Bickford, and Emma Bickford. In addition to her family, Joan leaves behind many dear friends. Her friends Eileen, Anne, and Nancy were a source of joy and support in her life and throughout her illness.
A graduate of the Boston Public Schools, Joan was employed for over 30 years as a payroll specialist at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton.
Joan loved traveling to Maine with her family annually. She enjoyed luncheons with her friends and activities at her community in Plymouth.
Joan and her late husband Paul adored their precious dachshund Rudy. Rudy was often remembered by Joan with pictures and mementos of her canine companion throughout her home in remembrance of the joy he brought to their household.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, November 23rd, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St., Randolph. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Massachusetts Hospital School, 3 Randolph St, Canton, MA 02021.
