Joan Tillman Meredith was born on August 14, 1948 to Horace and Alma Tillman. She grew up in Kirby, Texas with her two brothers and sister. She started living her life in Christ from a young age when she was baptized in the Blanco River. She enjoyed spending summers with family on the Guadalupe River and was a proud graduate of Judson High School. She received a two-year degree from Durham Business School in San Antonio.
To Joan, family always came first. Her love extended not only to her husband and children, but to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and anyone else who was lucky enough to get to know her. She instilled in all of her loved ones the importance of family, love and most importantly living a life in Christ. She will always be remembered as a kind-hearted, thoughtful, stubborn, but ever so loyal individual.
Joan enjoyed country music and going dancing in her younger years, as well as swimming in the river, and traveling with her good friend, Marion. Joan enjoyed Texas sunsets, wildflowers and held a great fascination with lighthouses. Just like her beloved lighthouses, Joan was always a bright light for all of those who she held dear in her heart. By far, her favorite past time was getting to relax and watch movies with her beloved husband of 30 years, Donald and their three pups; Chico, Sweetie and Jackie.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Alma Tillman and her brother, Bobby Craig.
Joan will be dearly missed by her husband, Donald Meredith; brother, Wayne Tillman; sister, Billie Jo Koepp; children, Andrew Ray Meredith (Melissa), Beverly Toolan (Mark), Donny Meredith (Elaine) and Thomas Tilghman; grandchildren, Shandi Reyes (Darwin), Joshua Meredith (Kayleigh), Matthew Bain (Cecile), Kayla Preiss, Erin Meredith, Eric Meredith (Kimberly), Dylan Wolf, Faith King, Maddie Meredith and Jack Meredith; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Julian, Joslyn, Xyzla, Jordan, Xavian and Xion.
