Age 78 of Burnsville, passed away December 10, 2025. Preceded in death by parents Harvey and Emma Severson and one brother.

Joan was married to Dick for 55 years. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother. Joan's greatest joys were her family, her many horses, Lake Sylvia and Sanibel Island. She was a bright light to everyone she met and had a kind and gentle soul.

She graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stout and received her master's degree from Mankato State University. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority where she gained many lifelong friendships.

She taught at Burnsville High School for 36 years and had a wonderful connection with all of her students and colleagues.

Joan loved going to the barn to see her beloved horse Rose and rode in many horse shows in the Midwest. She was still able to go to the barn and drive Rose until two weeks before her passing.

Survived by husband Dick; daughter, Lindsey (Lance) Oldre; son, Ryan (Jenna) Moore; grandchildren, Caleb Oldre, Conor Moore, Isabel Moore and Gianna Moore, 3 brothers and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service Tuesday January 6th 12 PM at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. 5025 Knox Ave S, MPLS. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
