Joan Marie Moritz, beloved mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend, passed away suddenly on December 9, 2025. Born on December 31, 1934, Joan was a vibrant spirit known for her genuine warmth and open heart.
Through her actions, Joan taught her children valuable lessons in kindness and empathy. She met challenges with determination, and spoke her mind openly. Joan loved to help, never met a stranger, and hugged anyone who wanted, or needed, one.
Joan’s proudest accomplishments were her children Michael (and his wife Darlene), and Cynthia, but her crowning glory was her grandchildren. Bryan Moritz, Jeff Moritz, Jack Hedrick, Hannah Williams, and Joe Hedrick were each her pride and joy. She delighted in every moment she spent with them. She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Daniel and Ellen (Moritz), and Archie (Williams).
Joan enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and needlepoint. She loved getting new gadgets, and her favorite gadgets were her computers. She used her main computer for making birthday cards, her laptop for emails and bills, and her iPad for puzzles and games. She was good with a text, too.
Joan is reunited in spirit with her cherished husband Henry, her beloved son Michael, and her son-in-law Tim Hedrick. All their memories will shine brightly within our hearts, serving as a reminder of the love that surrounded Joan in her life.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Joan’s life at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday December 15, 2025 from 11:00-1:00pm. A funeral service immediately following the visitation for those wishing to stay.
