Joan Pear

Joan M Pear, 90, of Brick, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
She was born in Long Branch and lived in Trenton, Belmar, Ocean and eventually in Brick NJ.
Joan graduated from the University of Michigan as a pharmacist, following in the footsteps of her mother as a pioneer in the then male dominated world of retail pharmacists. She worked in several pharmacies along the
Jersey shore including Yore Drug in Belmar, which her parents owned, Francis Asbury Manor in Ocean Grove, and several independent stores before finishing her career as a pharmacist in Brick hospital in the late 1990s.
She spent her free time either knitting, watching sports, visiting Atlantic City, playing MahJong or going on cruises. She really enjoyed when the MahJong tournaments were run on cruise ships.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herb in 1984; her parents, Jack and Minnie Rosenberg; her sister, Jacqueline Wallo; and her daughter-in-law Faith Pear.
Surviving her are: son Stephen Pear and his wife Cathy, son Wayne Pear, grandson, Matthew, brother in-law Ed Wallo, cousin and cruising partner Lois Goldberg, sister in-law Harriett Koren, and many other aunts, cousins,
nieces and nephews spread across the country.
