Joan Ropp, 94, of Dewey, joined her husband Carl in Heaven on January 4, 2026.
Billie Joan Blount was born on August 1, 1931, in Bowering, Oklahoma, to Joseph William (Bill) Blount and Etta Lavinia Powell Blount. She grew up in Bartlesville and enjoyed going to movies, dancing, music, flowers and sports. After graduation she worked for Glen Hopkins Realtors.
In October 1951 she was united in marriage to Carl Ropp in
Dewey, Oklahoma. A couple of years later she became a stay-at-home mom with the arrival of their first Rick and then Chris. She was very active with keeping up with the boys and Carl, attending sporting events and the home extension club. She was also a Den Mother to the Cub Scouts. Her home was full of love, fun and food. Many pregame and late-night meals were served there.
She later re-entered the workforce at TRW-Reda in Marketing and retired after 20 years of service.
Joan belonged to Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, Dewey VFW 1099 Ladies auxiliary and Eagles Lady auxiliary 610.
In retirement they loved to travel and outlived all their traveling companions except for their kids. They loved their home on Grand Lake and loved to boat, fish and entertain. Joan loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Joan is survived by sons, Rick and his wife Nancy, Chris and wife Cathey; granddaughter, Madison and her husband Lukasz; great-granddaughter, Harper; brother, John Blount; sister, Beverly Postrach, step grandchildren, Lisa, Dan, Kevin and Ryan; step great-grandchildren, Alex and Kaitlyn. Special thanks to all of her nieces, nephews, and friends, and especially her nephew Jerry and her niece Vickie and neighbors Don and Gary for all the help they provided during his time of need. Thanks to the staff at Bartlesville Health and Rehab and Cornerstone Hospice for the wonderful care they provided during the past 14 months.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl; her parents, Bill and Etta Blount; sister, Barbara Ross; Rick's first wife, Jean and her son Jason.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Dewey Cemetery with Reverend Tuney Ropp Sr. officiating.
