Joan Margaret Sarault

Joan Margaret (Spohn) Sarault, 79, of Fowler, died December 28, 2022. Joan was born November 20, 1943, the daughter of, the late, John and Dorothy (Guilfoyle) Spohn in Mendota, IL. She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, James H. Sarault, children, Susan (Craig) Flynn of Fowler, David (Michelle) Sarault of Fowler, and Kenneth Sarault of Earl Park, sisters, Dorothy Vanzanten of Owosso, MI, Judy Spohn of Woodstock, IL, brothers, John (Eula) Spohn of San Antonio, TX and Chuck (Mary Jo) Spohn of Aurora, IL, grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, Meghan, John, Alyssa and Kourtney Sarault and Rachel (Josiah Johnson) and Brooke Flynn and beloved great-grandchildren, Phaedra and Gabriel Zappitella.
Joan graduated with a degree as a registered nurse from St. Mary's in Kankakee, Il and practiced with Dr. Scheurich of Oxford, IN, Fowler Nursing Home, George Davis Manor as well as St. Elizabeth Hospital to better the lives of others, but always made time for her family as a consummate caregiver.
The family will hold a visitation from 4-6pm Monday, January 2, 2023 at the Gerts, Windler & Keller funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred heart Catholic Church, Fowler, IN at 11am, Tuesday, January 3, 2022 with Fr. Peter Vanderkolk officiating. Committal will process thereafter to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Fowler, IN. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Masses of Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic School.
