Joan passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025 at age 89 surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in Rochester, NY on November 4, 1936. She is predeceased by her husband James, sister Norma (William) Ottman and her parents Ruth and Edward Cason.
Joan is survived by her children James Singleton (Alice Irminger), Judith Davis (Chris), and Norman Singleton (Brinda); grandchildren Mark Singleton, Kelly (Jon) Zullo, Tyler Davis, Emily Singleton, Ryan Davis, Matthew Davis and Katie Singleton; Aunt Lorraine Moore; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends and neighbors.
Joan was known for her boundless love and devotion to those she held dear. She took great joy in spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, never missing a game, recital, concert, or milestone. Joan’s warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew her, often expressed through her “world famous” hand written greeting cards that brought comfort and joy to friends and family alike. A talented crafter, gardener, and pianist, Joan’s creativity and passion enriched the lives of those around her. She found joy in the simple moments—playing dominoes & Euchre with her dear friend Beverly and “the girls”, tending to her garden, or sharing music with her Aunt Lorraine. She cherished the time she spent working with children while being a teacher aide in the Naples Central School District when the family resided in Naples, NY. Joan’s legacy of unconditional love, dedication to family, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
