Joan Oldham Small, age 85 of Gilmer, Texas, passed away on January 14, 2025, surrounded by her family. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
Joan was born on July 27, 1939, in Waco, Texas to the late Alvin and Lucille Oldham. Joan grew up in Waco and started her career working at Texas Farm Bureau. Later, Joan worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Gilmore, Texas where she excelled in organizing committees and planning special events which she enjoyed. Joan loved her family and held her grandchildren and great grandchildren close to her heart. She could not get enough of them. In 2023, Joan moved to Gatesville to be close to her family.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald Small.She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Bishop; son, Billy Bishop and wife, Kerry; grandchildren, Briana, Rodano and husband, Eric, Kevin Bishop, and Jason Bishop; great grandchildren, Logan, Adam, and Zoe; two sisters, Joyce Brown Low and Pam Miles; and nephew, Brian Miles and wife, Jennifer.
