Joan Sperber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lambie Funeral Home - Philadelphia from Jul. 22 to Jul. 31, 2025.
Joan Sperber passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 31, 1935. Throughout her life, Joan was a beacon of support and a pillar of strength for her family. She was the devoted wife of the late William W. Sperber for 65 years and a loving mother to Daniel Sperber and Dawn Slawter, as well as the late Robert Sperber and William W., Jr. Joan will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Danielle Sperber-Paff (Drew Paff), Kyle Sperber, Alexa Hope Slawter, Luke William Slawter, Gabriella Joy Sperber and her great-grandson, Ryan Zacniewski, all held a very special place in her heart. She will also be fondly remembered by her siblings, extended family, and dear friends. Joan was courageous, always ready to face life's challenges with a bright smile and a light heart. Creative and resourceful, she found joy in sewing and making clothes, leaving tokens of love in every stitch. She also loved dancing, bowling, and roller skating and found spiritual joy in attending Grace Bible Church, Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, and Fellowship Bible Church. Joan's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and creativity. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-they must be felt with the heart." Joan embodied that sentiment in all that she did. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and her beautiful spirit continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136. Joan's Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 noon. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, William. We encourage you to share your memories and photos of Joan on her memorial page. These shared moments will serve as comforting reminders of the extraordinary woman she was and the beautiful life she lived. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
