Joan Carol Corris Spry, 90, of Kingston, NH passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 20, 2024. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 12, 1934, to Stanley and Mary Corris. She grew up in Stratford, CT and graduated from Stratford High School in 1952. She graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and spent her life caring for others as a Registered Nurse until she was 78 years old. She loved being a nurse and was so proud of her career.

Joan married Robert Frederick Spry in 1955 and together they raised three daughters in Stratford and Cheshire, CT.  She was dedicated to her whole family and loved to bring them together for Sunday dinners, birthdays, holidays, and vacations. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandparent, attending births, graduations, recitals, concerts, and sporting events. She loved decorating, shopping, cooking, reading, traveling, birdwatching, gardening, and flower arranging, and was a member of the Atkinson Garden Club for many years. She was always surrounded by bouquets of flowers.

Her friends and family will remember her as a generous, elegant lady, with a warm smile, and an infectious laugh. She rallied and celebrated her 90th birthday with her whole family a week before her passing. She will be missed by daughters, Karen Dinnan (Jed) of Juneau AK, Laura Treat (Dave) of Hampstead NH, and Sharon Skinner (Jeff) of Danville NH; grandchildren Melissa and Kylie Treat (Drew Vetere), Tyler and Wesley Dinnan, Hayley Skinner Crowley (Kevin), and Sam and Nick Skinner; great grandchildren Jace Dinnan and Poppy Vetere; sister-in-law Barbara Kristiansen; and 7 loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Phyllis Fagan.

A private family memorial will be held in the spring. We appreciate the care she received over the last few years from many health care professionals and staff assistants. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the UNH College of Health and Human Services Nursing scholarship program at https://chhs.unh.edu/give-chhs, then select Nursing.
