Joan Kathryn Stallings, 92, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, surrounded by family, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born May 11, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Eva Mae (Robinette) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Gilbert Leroy Stallings, Sr.; and four children, Gilbert Eugene, Michael William, Tampla Sue and Thomas Floyd.
Joan was an active member of St. Mary's Parish. She was a Eucharistic Minister, she helped with the cleaning of the church, and she helped with the annual picnic. She was a part of St. Francis Secular Community, Padre Pio. She was an avid Prayer Warrior who loved the Rosary, the Blessed Mother and Jesus. She was a daily Communicate.
Above everything, she loved her family. Helping and spending time with them brought her immense joy.
Surviving are her eight children, Russell L. (Debra), Maria B., Mark A. (Noreen), Gary L. (Roberta), (Pete) Carl S., Jody V., Monica A. (Rob) Davis and Gilbert L. Jr. (Jody) Stallings; 26 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD. A Christian Wake including the Rosary will be conducted at 7:00pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 21 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church with Fr. Mark Carter, OFM, Cap. officiating.
In honor of Joan's memory, the family requests donations to Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, 300 E Oldtown Road, Ste. 2, Cumberland, MD 21502.
