Age 77 of Crest Hill, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was taken too soon. Joan loved her family.
Born March 1, 1946 in Port Huron, Michigan. Joan was the daughter of Mary and Joseph Briones. She was raised and educated in Joliet and on May 12, 1973, she married the love of her life, James Sukle.
In her free time, Joan loved to roller skate and dance. She also loved her collectibles and spending time with her family.
Joan is survived by her daughter: D'Annette (David) Dodson of Plainfield; grandson: Alex Dodson of North Dakota; son: Joe (Donna) Sukle of Wilmington; two grandsons: Troy (Kerrie) Sukle of Wilmington and Dustin (DJ) Sukle of Godley; great-grandchildren: Tandon and Kailey Sukle; brothers: Larry Briones of Channahon, Jerry (Jackie) Briones of Channahon, and Tom (Michelle) Shook of Indianapolis; sister: Dianna Bak of Morris; sister-in-law: Marilyn Sukle and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband: James; parents: Mary and Joseph; brother: Rick Briones; brothers-in-law: Lawrence Bak and Robert Sukle; nephew: Rob Sukle, and two sisters-in-law: Pat Sukle and Nancy Sukle.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pat Hernandez for being such a loving and dear friend.
Joan will be deeply missed and was loved by all that knew her. Fly high our beautiful angel and until we meet again!
Per Joan's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a private interment will be held at a later date.
